Lumea Shades | 10-Year Limited Warranty
Statement of Warranty
Lumea Shades warrants that its custom window treatments will be free from manufacturing defects in materials, components, and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase. This warranty is extended exclusively to the original retail purchaser and remains in effect as long as the product remains in its original residential installation.
Coverage Periods
We provide tiered coverage based on the specific components of your window treatments:
- Internal Mechanisms & Hardware: 10 Years (includes cord locks, tilt gears, and mounting brackets).
- Cords and Operational Chains: 7 Years.
- Motorization & Electronic Components: 5 Years (excludes batteries).
Exclusions and Limitations
This warranty is limited to manufacturing defects and does not encompass:
- Natural Aging & Environment: Normal wear and tear, including gradual fading, fabric fraying, or the natural weathering of wood and woven materials due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat, or moisture.
- Improper Handling: Damage resulting from accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, or failure to follow Lumea Shades’ prescribed cleaning and maintenance guidelines.
- Unauthorized Installation: Any defects or operational failures resulting from installation performed by a third party not authorized or contracted by Lumea Shades.
- Ancillary Costs: Except as provided in the "Service Policy" below, this warranty does not cover costs related to:Transportation, shipping, or freight charges.Removal, re-measurement, or re-installation of the product.Incidental or consequential damages of any kind.
Service & Labor Policy
One-Year Complimentary Labor: For products originally measured and installed by Lumea Shades professionals, we provide a one (1) year labor guarantee. Within the first twelve months of ownership, Lumea Shades will cover all costs associated with the removal, repair, and re-installation of a covered warranty claim.
Post-First Year Service: Following the initial one-year period, while replacement parts remain covered under their respective terms, the homeowner is responsible for all prevailing labor rates, travel fees, and shipping costs associated with warranty service.
Claims Procedure
To initiate a warranty claim, please contact our Customer Excellence team at infor@lumeashades.com. A valid proof of purchase and a detailed description of the defect (including photographs) are required to process your request. Lumea Shades reserves the right to inspect the product and, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective component with a comparable contemporary equivalent.
